That meant trying to calculate where a UFO would be at what time so that you could intercept THAT point, rather than trying to intercept the UFO directly (which is almost always less efficient). In Insane Ironman, you need to do a bit of min-maxing to increase your odds of success. Intercepting UFOs in real-time was more than just clicking intercept and hoping you can catch it. It WAS a resource that needed to be managed, because time was needed to refuel and rearm planes (and let soldiers heal but that didn't play out so much). However, I disagree with beloved leader Chris about the concept of time in X1.
I'll keep an open mind and reserve judgement. I have a suggestion after my notes here to make it better. Have them level up and become more competent, and always give them a chance for failure and and chance for death. I'm thinking spies in the Civilization series. I remember in X1 reading some of the flavor text about 'Xenonaut agents' and knew there was a lot of potential there. Like the idea of making agents a manageable resource. At least make regions recoverable, albeit with great difficulty (perhaps you need to fight like 5 battles and commit heavy on diplomats for a while). It certainly has potential, but I am having trouble imagining how it looks in the game. Unsure about region relations and infiltration. Don't make the aliens stupid: They know the difference between the Xenonauts and standard military response, especially the further the game goes on, and especially especially if they have already heavily infiltrated whomever the Xenonauts would try to blame that plasma torpedo on. The following scenario come to mind: "Well sir, we blew all of the UFOs out of the sky and roflstomped all the aliens on the ground this week so they are out to get us but if we lay low for a while they will forget about us." IMO this is something that should only increase over time.
I mean, the Xenonauts, if successful, WILL end up defeating the aliens, so it only makes sense that such a meter will increase over time. I'm not sure how this can be realistically implemented. As long at this is a dynamic resource that must be carefully managed, if implemented well, it could be a very unique grand slam feature.ĭislike the threat meter. Consider adding buffs/debuffs for if the bar gets above 85%/below 15%. Love the idea of trying to manage global relations while fighting the real enemy. Hell, that is how most wars are fought anyway. It makes total sense for aliens to try to destabilize their enemy before committing to a head-on engagement. I woudln't waste my time if I didn't think the devs took community feedback seriously.

I would love to know how to edit resources and speed researches and crafting though.I'm writing notes here as I read along. In fact, you don't need a trainer, a CT or any other cheat for combat. With U and Shift+U you can eventually have immortal soldiers, using also T and R can shoot at will and complete a mission in a single turn with a single soldier. The excess of HP will sometimes stay even in the base (you'll see in the stats a "1,xxx% HP" next to the soldiers.) Using U after this will heal back to 1000. Shift+U gives 1000 HP to the soldier, so even if wounded, until the number is above the soldier's max HP, it will appear healed and won't go to the infirmary. Shift+T you get 1000 TU (can explore the whole map to get soldier stat, but shooting uses TU % so will deplete them normally i.e. R reload weapon without consuming magazines
Note - If the soldier is dead, and you use U on it, it will revive (not during the mission, but you'll see the portrait will have HP again) and will be available for next mission, also the mission report won't give dead soldiers. from 1500000 you change it to 991500000), and you want to modify it again, then you'll have to look for the exponential (sorry, I don't know if it's the correct English for it) number, so in my example, for 9.915E+8, or just for 9.915. If you add a money value with 9 or more digits (i.e. If you play from GOG or other platforms, there are similar ways to edit the launch options and add the cheatmode. If you aren't playing from steam, just go on the link on the desktop and edit it, adding "-cheatmode" at the end of the exe line. search for the money value, then change it to the value you one. open C:\Users\"username"\Documents\My Games\Xenonauts 2\Saves K destroys or kills where your mouse cursor is. Y to teleport the selected unit to where your mouse cursor is. In steam library, right click Xenonauts 2 then select properties. If you are playing from steam tray to follow this:
